A headline percentage can describe different things.
Two terms, two questions.
Purity commonly describes a measure of composition under a defined analytical approach. Content concerns the amount of a specified substance in a sample or container. The terms are related to material evaluation but are not interchangeable.
Why pack labels need context.
A source-listed vial amount is a commercial pack description. It is not automatically an independently verified assay result. Likewise, a chromatographic percentage should not be used to infer a vial’s exact mass of target material without appropriate supporting information.
Specify the attribute you need.
When requesting high purity peptides from China, explain which attribute and documentation your project requires. A request for 98% purity should identify the relevant analytical basis rather than stand alone as a marketing phrase. The batch record and approved specification are the appropriate reference points.
Questions to carry into the enquiry
- Which exact material and form are being requested?
- Which documents support the attributes that matter to this project?
- What remains to be confirmed before a quotation is approved?
